Mission accomplished

Yay, I think I just saved the concert of Rolling Stones in Helsinki this Wednesday.. ;) The clinic I'm working at is being on call on Saturdays and I was working there this Saturday. The firm also has a clinic in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Anyway, I got a call this Saturday from a lady arranging the concert of Rolling Stones in Finland and she needed a dentist appointment for one of the crew members of Rolling Stones for Monday. She had already booked an appointment for one member of the crew for Monday morning at out clinic in Helsinki but now another one of them had a tooth ache too and needed to see a dentist. She had tried to call our clinic in Helsinki and had been waiting for half an hour on line for somebody to pick up the phone but got no answer (because no one was there on Saturday). She had also sent email to us but nobody reads them on weekends so no luck there either. So, she was quite desperate to get an appointment and called us even though we are in a totally different city. After a few phone calls and an unsuccessful attempt to get and access to the appointment data of our clinic in Helsinki with our computer I ended up sending a fax to the people working in Helsinki telling them to treat this other stuff member too on Monday morning even if they didn't have free appointment times then. So, mission accomplished and the concert of Rolling Stones is saved as the crew members will be able to concentrate in setting up the stage without suffering of any tooth aches.. ;)

I also managed to upload these cute alphas to the shop at Scraphead. They are made of cotton pads and have a stitching on them. I made them in four different colors so that you can mix and match. The first pack includes pink and green alphas and the second pack blue and orange alphas. You can get this pink and green set here.

And this more boyish set of blue and orange is available here. I hope you like them!

Well, that's it then. Have a nice week! :)

A hole in the ceiling

Well, there's been nothing very interesting going on here except that I have a hole in my bathroom ceiling.. There has been a leakage in the bathroom in the apartment above me and now they've been fixing it up. But apparently, it's not going quite how it's supposed to because a part of my ceiling has come down.. It was quite a scary experience to take a shower one morning while the men were drilling right above my head and I was expecting them to fall on my head any minute with the ceiling.. ;) And as if a hole in the ceiling in not enough, they've also managed to break my electricity wire so that I lost the electricity from my bathroom and kitchen. It's quite interesting to come home after work and see if there's anything else broken during the day.. ;) Well, it's actually not as bad as it sounds. I had an electrician come here yesterday and he fixed the electricity in the bathroom and gave me a huge lamp for the kitchen as he couldn't fix the kitchen yet. And even though I have a hole in the ceiling, there isn't anything coming down through it, so that's a good thing. :)

But, on to other things.. :) Did you know that there's a special sale going on at Scraphead?! Right now you can get 40 % off from all the paper packs. So, if you were thinking about buying my Branded Papers or any other paper set now is the perfect time to do it! :)

And speaking of Branded Papers, here's a couple of fab layouts my CT member Amanda made using them. Isn't this first one so much fun and a perfect mix of colors! Credits here.

And this one is so beautiful too! I love the blocking, the colors and that picture is gorgeous! Credits here.

Finally, there's a new freebie at Scraphead Freebie section too. It's this cute set of Twiggy Words Carol has come up with. As usual, you can find the link for the freebies at the Scraphead home page.

Sorry, this is not available as a freebie anymore but you can find it at the Scraphead store.

The correct answer is...

So, here it comes... :)

Ebie was the first one to get it right so she won my Branded Papers set. Congrats! :) I really didn't believe how fast you guessed the right answer since Swaziland is not a very well known country. But I guess there isn't that many countries beginning with an S so that hint made it a lot easier. :)

I'm not sure if I had ever even heard of Swaziland before I found out this year that it's possible for us to go there as an exchange student. In case you're as clueless as I was and don't know where it is, it's on the northeastern border of South-Africa. It's a really small country with a little more than a million inhabitants and it's located relatively high above the sea level so the nature is quite green there and the climate is not as hot and dry as in many parts of Africa.

The majority of us students going there are studying some area of health care and so we'll be training in small health clinics in different parts of the country. Not surprisingly, the health care level isn't very good there and so there'll be lots for us to do there. And in the whole country there's some 40 dentists so you can imagine that you won't see many white Pepsodent smiles there.. But, I'm so excited about going there and can't wait for the end of September when we'll be leaving. I know it'll be a huge culture shock in the beginning but assuming I'll survive that, I think it's going to be a rich and broadening experience from which I'll learn so much. :)

The only thing I'm a bit worried about, in addition to getting malaria, being beaten up and robbed, is the internet connection.. ;) I know there's internet cafees there and it'll be possible to use the internet but from what I've heard the connections can be really slow. I'm going to take my laptop with me so I'll be able to do some scrapping and designing there but I'm not sure if I'll be able to upload them to the shop. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.. In any case, I'll be back after Christmas and after that I'll have lots of new goodies to share. :)

But, that's enough of Swaziland this time. I still have one more thing I want to share before I finish.. I just wanted to show you this cute CT layout pillowgirl made using my Branded Papers. It's so clever how she used two of those papers on one page. It never crossed my mind to use them like that.. ;) You can see the rest of the credits here.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to say that the round alpha I used spelling Swaziland is made by me and will be available at Scraphead in a few days.. :) See ya!

Big and BIGGER news!! :)

Yay, I have some exciting news to share with you! The first one is big and related to scrapping and the second one is even bigger and not related to scrapping. :)

So, the first one is that:

That means that I'm now also selling at Scrap-Garden in addition to Scraphead. I'm so excited about it and glad that I got the opportunity to do this! Go check it out if you want to see how it looks. :) However, my new designs will be available first at Scraphead and so you'll have to wait for ten days before you can find them at Scrap-Garden. But, they'll be there so be patient if you're a regular customer at Scrap-Garden. :)

And the second news not related to scrapping is that I've been accepted to be an exchange student next fall! So I'll be going abroad for three months with 13 other students from my school. Well, I won't actually be studying there because there isn't any school for dental hygienists where I'm going to but I'll be doing lots of health promotion including  teaching kids to brush their teeth and such. It's really exciting and I'm so glad I'll get to be going. We are leaving in the end of September so I'll have to start taking my injections real soon and arranging lots of other things too.

But, I didn't tell you yet which country exactly I'm going to, did I? ;) Well, I thought to be a little sneaky and see if anyone of you could guess it right.. The first one who can will get my new Branded Papers set as a prize. And if nobody gets it right, I'll give the paper pack to the person whose guess is the closest. So, wanna try guessing? :) Just comment here on my blog with your guess. You'll have time until this Friday unless somebody gets it right before that.

And speaking of my new Branded Papers set, here's the preview of it. It's a set of ten papers with small brand labels on them bearing different words, like memories, remember, 4ever etc. I think they turned out so cute. :) The paper pack is part of my Branded Goods series and so there might be some other branded stuff coming later.. :) Meanwhile, you can get this set here at Scraphead and later at Scrap-Garden.

Well, that's all from me this time. Keep those guesses coming and I'll give you my paper pack if you're the first one to get it right. :) Have a nice day!

In the Shade of the Woods

So, here it is, my newest kit. It was inspired by the Finnish summer nature and that's why I named it In the Shade of the Woods. It's full of rich shades of green and almost makes you sniff the mossy scent of summery forest after rain. Well, in case you live somewhere where the forests are full of palm trees, your image of forests is propably a bit different.. ;) But, hopefully you'll like the kit anyway! :) The kit is available here at the Scraphead store for $4.99. And, good news to those of you who don't have credit cards, Scraphead is now accepting PayPal as a payment option as well.

The tiny wood tile alpha that I used in the word arts in the kit is available at the Scraphead Freebie section so go grab it now before it goes to the shop. :) As usual, you'll find the link to download the freebies from here.

And, so that we don't run out of freebies here, I also created a coordinating add-on for this kit... ;) Enjoy and I would love to hear what you think of it!

Sorry, the link is gone. Thanks to all for your interest in the freebie!

Okay, so hopefully I inspired you to start scrapping some summery outdoor layouts..! :) At least I was and I actually scrapped another lo with this kit too. It's me and my brother visiting my godmother. BTW, those gorgeous frames are not by me but by Christina Renee. The rest of  the credits can be found here.

Now, I'm off to work! Have a nice day and hopefully you'll get to spend some of it outdoors! :)

A sneek peak of a new kit! :)

So, I've been working on a new kit and actually finished it today. :) It's full of rich shades of green and lots of summery elements. It's a bit more grungy than my previous kits but it seems like that's the way I'm heading to right now and I have nothing against it.. ;) Hopefully, it's okay with you too.. :) Lately, my scrapping style has changed a bit and it's not as clean as it used to be. When I started making kits, my scrapping style was quite clean and simple and so were my designs. But now I find myself liking all things grungy and funky and as that reflects to my designing the style of my kits is changing a bit too. So after all this talk, you wanna see the kit right? ;) I'm only going to show you a sneek peak of it this time since I haven't been able to upload the kit to the store yet but come back in a couple of days for the whole kit and maybe a few freebies too.. :)

I actually haven't liked any of my previous kits this much and that's probably partly why I now was able to scrap with my own stuff. These pictures are from our summer cottage last weekend. Well, it's actually not much of a cottage but just a sauna by the lake, but anyway.. ;) And I actually got the inspiration for this kit by this place so that's why this lo was so easy to scrap. And just if you're wondering what's that green thing in my brother's head, it's a mosquito hat.. ;) Not very stylish but makes life lot more comfortable if you're being outdoors on a Finnish summer evening.. ;)

Credits can be seen here.

But, that's all for now. Remember to come back in a few days to see the whole kit and to crab the freebie. :)

Wanna win?

I haven't been here for a while. I spent the last weekend visiting my brothers and parents 350 kilometers away at my parent's house. The house is in the country side and so it was wonderful to get away from the city and feel and smell the real summer. We had a perfect Finnish summer weekend with barbeque, sauna and swimming.. and mosquitos... ;)

Well, a lot of things have happened at Scraphead while I was gone. There's lots of new products at the store (not by me just yet), a new challenge going on and a fun contest with a great price. Look!

All you have to do to win this camera is to submit a layout to the gallery at Scraphead  that features at least one summery photo and uses at least two different purchased Scraphead products. That shouldn't be too difficult, right? ;)

And I managed to scrap a new layout yesterday. Yay for me! :) I used some of Tracy Ann's new stuff that I just bought from her sale. You can see all the credits and leave me some love here.

These are a must have! :)

Oh my, I've been feeling so creative and productive over these past few days I had off from work that I almost can't believe it. I almost didn't want to go to work today since I had just come up with an awesome idea for a new kit and wanted to start with it right away. :) Now that I've got my creative juices going I wouldn't want to do anything else than design and scrap before I loose it again.  It always goes like that. Sometimes I just have new ideas popping in all the time and then it might be that nothing happens for a long time and I don't even feel like designing or scrapping at all. Let's just hope that I'll be able to keep it this time till the end of this week since I'm having a long weekend from work and would have time to design some more.. :)

But, I'll show you what I came up with yesterday. Since I'm such a huge fan of all date embellishments, I decided to make some date labels. These turned out so cool, if I may say so and are a must have.. :)

And, to make it even better I decided to offer these as a combo pack at a discounted price. So, if you want both of these sets, buy this pack and save $0.50! That's a good deal, right? :) You can check them out here at Scraphead.

And, I'll show you another new layout of mine. I actually made this the same day I did the one in my previous post so I managed to get two LOs done in one day! It's something that's never happened before..! :) I think the pictures might need an explanation.. They are taken from the preparations for my brother's wedding last summer when we were making invitation cards and such. I really like this LO even though the pictures aren't the greatest but that stamp frame really works miracles. You can see the credits and leave me some love here.

Well, that's all from me this time. Enjoy your summer days and have a fantastic 4th of July if you're in the US!

Finally a layout

Yippee, I managed to put together a layout after a long time. It was so nice and it didn't even take me more than five hours which is quite good for me.. I'm not the fastest scrapper, I know.. ;) The pictures are not that good but that was the best I could do with them. Actually, I'm still not quite sure if I'm happy with the lo but it'll have to do for now.. You can see the credits and leave me some love here.

Edit: Well, I decided the LO still needed a little something and so I added the pink ribbon to it. I guess it's better with it, or I don't know.. I'm terrible at making up my mind. ;)

I also want to show you a couple of Scraphead CT layouts made with my stuff. This first one is by Brittney and she used my Simply Solids papers. The rest of the credits can be seen here.

And this LO is by Kara and she used my Aqua Breeze Kit.

If you want to see more layouts made with my designs you can see them in the gallery at Scraphead. And if you have done a LO using any of the goodies available at Scraphead be sure to upload them them to the Scraphead Gallery. You never know, you might even win a 8x8 Shutterfly photobook for that.. :)

BTW, Carol has come up with another great freebie that is a must for all chocolate lovers.. :) It's a pack of chocolate drizzles.

Sorry, this is not available as a freebie anymore. However, you can find it for sale at the Scraphead store.
